The table is made of one of a kind, 100% reclaimed materials; extra rustic cabin beams from NW Wisconsin area with original dove tail joints in tact. The table is held together by inset steel butterfly joints, base made from reclaimed, heavy duty steel grating reclaimed from a Wisconsin quarry. It is put together in super heavy duty ultra rustic Scathain fashion.

In 2008, John McWilliam was approached to refurbish a collection of old bar stools for the Iron Horse, a boutique hotel in Milwaukee. He completed the project in record time and with unmatched craftsmanship. Scathain was born.

John always had a creative streak and an appreciation for the well-crafted in an age of mass production and low quality. Today, he employs 20 artists and operates out of an old printing supply warehouse in Milwaukee's Fifth Ward.

The lucky winner of this item will receive an original oil painting on canvas from Milwaukee artist, Jim Krahn. This painting, called "No Boundaries", was inspired by a morning walk down Beach Drive in Fox Point. Jim says, "If we are convinced that the only boundaries are those we build ourselves, and learn to let that go, we are then allowed to discover all the riches of the vast world around us. I support Discovery World because it is a wonderful vehicle to facilitate our journeys."

Krahn is a self-taught painter whose Midwestern roots have instilled in him a love of natural surroundings that is evident in his work. He has been living in Milwaukee for eight years but has lived in Maryland, California, Louisiana, Illinois and South Carolina. Jim's paintings have been inspired by nomadic adventures over the years. As he continues to travel and paint, he continues to hold roots in Milwaukee and he paints landscapes and trees from Milwaukee.

Jim's paintings are featured in private collections in Wisconsin, North and South Carolina, Maryland, Louisiana, California, Hawaii and most recently, Beirut, Lebanon.

ART QUILT BY MARLA MORRIS-KENNEDY

The lucky winner of this item will receive an improvisational framed art quilt embellished with trims and beads and ready for hanging by local artist, Marla Morris-Kennedy.

Marla Morris-Kennedy entered the art world by way of the back door. While working 25+ years as a physical therapist and owning and managing commercial real estate, she has sustained her love of fabric, color, visual texture and design. She began as a traditional quilt maker over 20 years ago studying conventional patterns and construction techniques and has since taken numerous classes from a variety of teachers from all over the country. Marla has participated in juried and invitational art shows throughout southeastern Wisconsin including Caggio Gallery (Milwaukee), Cedarburg Artists' Guild Fall Show, Leenhouts Gallery (Milwaukee), the Eight Counties Show sponsored by the John Michael Kohler Art Center (Sheboygan) in 2009. She is an annual participant in Cedarburg Arts Weekend. She was the Sacagawea Award Artist for Professional Dimensions in 2007. Marla won the grand prize for the "Quilting is Art" Competition sponsored by Milwaukee Public Television in 2010 and 2011. Marla is a member of North Shore Quilters' Guild, the Milwaukee Art Quilters, and the Cedarburg Arts Guild.
